Interview with Christine Rivinius

When and why did you start Goldstone?

I started Goldstone Realty out of the desire to take all my knowledge of the industry and to provide a level of service above and beyond current industry standards. It wasn’t until recently that I ever thought I’d start my own business.

What do you enjoy about being a business owner?

I enjoy the diversity. One of my favorite parts is mentoring and teaching new agents/staff. Another part would be seeing the positive difference we make on the families we work with. I am naturally an entrepreneur so it’s just a great fit. I have so much joy watching my families grow in their stages of life, and love watching my team members grow & excel with extraordinary skill and heart for their clients. Who knew owning a business was so much fun?!

Why did you get into real estate?

Since I was young I thought I was going to be a teacher. Right after high school I enrolled at Dickinson State University to try and find my next step. My boyfriend at the time purchased a condo and he suggested to me that working in real estate would be a great fit for me. I had no experience and knew nothing about it, so I looked into it and haven’t looked back! I been married to that boyfriend for 19 years now!

If you weren’t a real estate broker what would you be doing?

Honestly, I can’t see myself doing anything else. I love what I do. I really feel like I’ve found my calling and a career that fits me perfectly.

Do you remember the first home you sold?

My first closing was a lot. I was so nervous, and so excited all at the same time. I felt such a responsibility to this family. I didn’t want to get anything wrong. I still have the same feeling for every new family I work with.

Who are your key influencers?

God, first of all! I would also say Steve Jobs, Zig Ziglar, Pastor Levi Lusko. There are many brilliant people that influence me, and many brilliant people to continue to learn from!
